Review: Trouble the Water

Review:
2.5 out of 5 stars

I did not care for this documentary about Hurricane Katrina because it mainly was not what I expected. I was curious why there wasn't a documentary out there about the aftermath or the tragedy. Instead we got this movie which is about how people tried to overcome and find the job in New Orleans.

It was Oscar nominated for Best Documentary which in my opinion does not say much for the documentaries from that year (lol). At one point I watched people rap about their troubles, oh no wait I watched that twice. I can never get that time back in my life.

I guess it is not as bad as I am making it out to be because it was boring, it did not focus on the government problems but instead of the people it affected. It told their story and how they survived and how they are still fighting to survive. It was a good story that needed to be told but not for the length of time it took to tell it.

I do not necessarily recommend this or not recommend this instead if you like documentaries you might like this movie. If you don't like them do not waste your money on renting it because you probably won't like it.

If you have seen it, let me know what you think! Love it? Hate it?
