Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Review:
3 out of 5 stars

I first want to state that this book series by C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite of all time!! Up there with The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Twilight (yes I know this is not a great work from a literacy mastermind but it sure is addicting and fun to read). So to bring it to screen could either be amazing or horrible.

My favorite movie of all of them was the first-- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. That was literally so much fun to watch and amazing because it was the first time I saw the world beyond my imagination. The second movie-- Prince Caspian was not as compelling or fun to watch. I think I missed the White Witch who was so deliciously evil in the first one.

This movie was good but not as great as the first one. It got back to a lot of the original greatness because it focused on a few of the characters and we got to see development of them. Plus it introduced new characters with great young actors. The special effects were just as amazing and the ending was brilliantly adapted. I literally wanted to go to Aslen's land so much!!!

I loved how everyone was tempted which shows this movie was not scared of the Christianity themes like the second one was. This movie embraced them and you got to see the relationships to Jesus and the disciples which was a great parallel.

I definitely recommend seeing this movie-- I did not see it in 3D because I am cheap and the reviews said besides the beginning part it was not worth it. I tend not to see them in 3D until they become cheaper which will happen in time.

Let me know what you think if you saw this movie! Love it? Hate it?
