Review: Step Up 3D

This is a movie I saw with one of my best friends because she desperately wanted to see it. I will admit I saw the previous two movies in theaters and enjoyed them but this one boasted 3D which I love to see if it was filmed in 3D not converted. This was luckily filmed in 3D technology so it did not take much to convince me to go.

Review:

Rating-- Story- 3 out of 5, Special Effects 5 out of 5.

I honestly could not decided how to give this a rating because watching it was a mind-blowing experience. The 3D technology was amazing and I was in awe of every dance sequence. But the story blew-- I didn't like it because it was similar to all the others. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Girl has secret. Girl falls in love with boy. Girl leaves boy for his own good. Boy finds girl and discovers secret. Girl pleads her case. Boy forgives girl. Boy and girl overcome everything in the name of love and live happily ever after.

BORING!!!

But GO SEE THIS IN THEATERS and pay for 3D. The music is amazing. The dancing makes you want to get up and dance in the isle-- which I recommend!! You could tell all the actors were professionally trained dancers (I looked it up-- almost all were). Their acting sucks but their dancing is amazing.

There is definitely some comedy with a few of the characters that is amazing-- the guy twins were hilarious and were enjoyable to watch. There are little kid dancers at the end of the movie that were great. If you do go-- stay through the closing credits because there is more 3D dancing to watch (just looking out for you so you can get your money's worth.

I know it seems like I really dislike the movie-- but from a stand point of the acting and story line I really did not like it. But as many of the other critics say-- the 3D effects are revolutionary!! They are some of the best out there because unlike many movies (Clash of the Titans and Alice and Wonderland to name two) this movie was filmed in 3D not converted. Converted movies suck!!! (to be frank)

This movie is like Avatar-- filmed in 3D and the effects literally are out of this world. If you take off the glasses you can see the difference. One of my favorite scene is technically a scene where the boy and girl first officially fall in love but I love it because they are standing over a grate and taking slushie out of their container and having it blow up in the air whenever the wind from the subway blows up. The special effects were so neat -- one of my favorite non dance scenes in the movie.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!

Let me know what you think!!
