Review: Date Night

I wanted to see this in theater but was unable to because it came out during a time when there were a lot of Oscar nominated movies to see.

Review:

Rating 3.5 out of 5 stars

Let me start by saying I am NOT a Steve Carrell fan-- I find his movies very obnoxious and crude. But I am a big Tiny Fey fan, especially because of Mean Girls. This movie did not disappointed. The sarcasm was absolutely amazing and both stars delivered-- BIG!!!

They are both great comedians and can deliver the silliest line with ease-- it is hysterical watching them together. Recently Steve Carrell tried to go serious in his acting but that is foolish of him because he can do the funny stuff so well.

The plot of the movie is very simple-- a couple go out to dinner and take someone else's reservations and have a great night until they are mistaken for that couple who apparently stole something from the wrong people. The couple then run away from the bad guys and are suddenly in the need of help in taking down the mob, among other people.

I found myself questioning the movie so much because it was not realistic but yet I went with it because the sarcasm hooked me-- literally the one liners Tina Fey had made me almost roll around on the floor laughing- haha.

It is rated PG-13 and rightfully so but do not let that fool you, I have no doubt that a lot of kids saw this and it did not scar them for life.

I personally loved a lot of the cameos by bigger actors-- like Mark Walberg, James Franco, Mila Kunis, Mark Ruffalo, Kristen Wiig, and Taragji P. Henson. They are all well known in other areas but were great here.

I do recommend renting this movie, oddly it would make a great date night movie with a loved one or even family. It has things everyone will love-- thriller, love, passion, comedy!! You name it, it has it.

Let me know what you think!
