Review: Mr. Majestyk

Review:
3 out of 5 stars

This is one of the movies that the book that got me to start this blog highly recommended. The son in the book watched this movie at least 100 times and it was easily one of his favorite movies. With such a glowing recommendation I shot it to the top of my list on blockbuster.com.

The movie is about a watermelon farm owner who is arrested and then escapes from the police whenever a criminal he is with is broken out. He then tries to capture the criminal to exchange for his freedom but in the process really upsets that man and he wants revenge. But the farmer does not let him scare him and decides to fight back.

I personally did not hate this movie but I did not become passionate about it. It was a fun watch because of the 1970s type story and acting. I started laughing quite a bit while watching it. It doesn't have anyone extremely famous in it. It doesn't have great writing or directing. But it did not disappoint thus it didn't earn a horrible review. I just can't give it a glowing one either.

It was definitely fun to watch a criminal have the tables turned on him and it is actually hard to believe the movie was made in the 1970s because the story is actually relevant today with the migrant workers.

I would say if you have the opportunity rent this and let mw know what you think. Do you agree? disagree?
